Covid Opening Arrangements

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Top of the Rock, and our hope is that you will have a happy and carefree holiday here with us. In the light of the evolving COVID-19 situation we are seeking to do all we can to ensure the health and safety of everyone on-site. In accordance with the latest recommendations from Fáilte Ireland, we are taking the following precautionary measures, and we would ask you to read through these very carefully before coming:

Check-in/Check-out

  • Our check-in time will now be from 3:30pm  onwards in order to allow time for extra cleaning protocols.
  • Our latest check-out time is 12 noon, as we need to clean and sanitize all vacated pods and all communal areas thoroughly.
  • On arrival, we encourage just one representative of each group to approach Reception ( through the upper door) for check-in, and we encourage the same practice for all subsequent visits to Reception.
  • If you, or any member of your party, are ill, or have had contact with anyone who is ill, please do not come. If you become unwell while here,  please isolate and vacate as soon as possible.

Hygiene and physical distancing

  • We  ask our guests to use the hand sanitiser dispensers, placed at strategic points, and to frequently wash their hands using the antibacterial soap provided.
  • We  ask our guests to be thoughtful of others, and to observe physical distancing with those outside of their own family unit/group, in all communal areas eg we will continue to light the campfire each evening, and ask families/groups to take turns to roast their marshmallows.
  • We  ask parents to supervise their children in all communal areas, including toilet block and recreational areas .
  • We  regret that we will need to remove  kids’ toys from our communal area, so please bring your own.
  • We  ask our guests to respect the privacy of each pod/tent/campervan space for its occupants.
  • We will endeavor to clean and disinfect all communal areas (ie. kitchens, dining areas, toilet and shower block, recreational areas both indoor and outdoor) twice each day, with particular emphasis on frequently touched surfaces eg. door handles, tabletops, handrails, taps etc.

Kitchen facilities

  • We ask all tent guests to bring their own cooking facilities and utensils, and to avoid using the kitchens apart from washup at offpeak times.
  • We do not have a gas BBQ for rent, but we have placed a stone slab within each pod garden as a cooking space for BBQs or gas stoves, and we would encourage our pod guests to cook outdoors where possible.
  • We have 3 cooking areas in our kitchens, 2 in the lower kitchen , and 1 in the upper kitchen. We  ask guests, when using kitchens for cooking and/or washup, to limit the number of their group using the facilities to 1 or 2, and to leave the spaces completely clean and tidy for subsequent users.
  • We regret that we need to remove communal items such as tea, coffee and salt/ pepper shakers from our communal kitchens, so please remember to bring your own.
  • We encourage our guests to eat outdoors whenever possible.

  • Apart from the bedding already provided in your pod, there will be no option to rent additional bedding.
